Employment
When litigation is inevitable or the best alternative, our employment and labor law attorneys take a practical and aggressive approach to zealously representing our clients’ interests. Our attorneys have many years of hands-on experience handling employment discrimination actions in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, various state and local human rights commissions, and before judges and juries in federal and state courts. Our group includes some of the firm’s most experienced trial attorneys. We have had significant success in disposing of discrimination charges filed against our clients in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and similar administrative bodies, sometimes just days after filing position papers.
We regularly litigate various other employment and labor matters involving breach of contract, non-compete and trade secrets agreements, defamation, wrongful discharge, retaliation and employment torts. We have obtained TROs and injunctions against employees who breached their contractual and fiduciary duties by improperly competing with their former employers and/or misappropriating trade secrets. We also have developed special expertise in representing employers in occupational safety and health citation enforcement actions, and serve as OSHA counsel to one of the largest employers in Illinois.
Our attorneys have demonstrated an outstanding track record of success in disposing of employment litigation at the administrative and summary judgment stages, prevailing at bench and jury trials and winning favorable decisions at the appellate level. We are also skilled in the use of cost-saving alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration. Our group is proud to serve as panel counsel or approved counsel for AIG/National Union, Chubb, Professional Claims Managers/U.S. Risk and other insurers, through which we handle many employment matters.
