Freeborn & Peters Supports the Franciscan Outreach Association

09/04/09

More than 25 Freeborn & Peters LLP employees and their families came together recently to volunteer at the soup kitchen of the Franciscan Marquard Center, located in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. Between August 21 and 25, firm volunteers worked to serve hot meals to an average of 128 men, women and children each evening.

Jeffery M. Cross, a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, has served as a long-time volunteer with the Franciscan Outreach Association. The Center serves hot meals to homeless families 365 days of the year and provides a place to pick up mail and do laundry. It also provides counseling.

In addition, Freeborn & Peters employees chose the Franciscan Outreach Association as a 2009 “Blue Jeans for Charity” beneficiary. One day each quarter, employees may wear blue jeans to the office in exchange for a small monetary donation. The Association was chosen to receive donations in December of 2009.
