Pro Bono: The Freeborn & Peters Commitment
Freeborn & Peters LLP understands its responsibility to use its experience, skill and good fortune to represent, counsel and benefit disadvantaged persons and charitable and community organizations. Our pro bono policy encourages attorneys to participate in pro bono activities, and to provide to pro bono clients the same commitment, diligence and passion for excellent results that Freeborn & Peters attorneys provide to all firm clients. To that end, each Associate and Income Partner starts the year with 50 hours of billable time to dedicate to pro bono efforts, with more billable pro bono hours readily available as matters warrant.
The Pro Bono Committee of Freeborn & Peters coordinates the firm’s pro bono commitment and practice. Under its auspices, attorneys handle a variety of litigation and corporate matters for individuals and organizations, including Inspiration Corporation, for whom one of our Partners serves as General Counsel, Interfaith House, The Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago and the Lawyers Committee for the Creative Arts. The firm and its attorneys partake in charitable endeavors beyond the courtroom and boardroom – from rehabbing homes, shelters or schools through Rebuilding Together and helping to protect the health of babies through support of the March of Dimes, to working with local schools and other community organizations.
