The Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group provides legal services across a broad scope of areas, including traditional bankruptcy services (representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and other parties in court proceedings); financial restructurings and workouts (representing debtors and creditors in out-of-court workouts); creditors’ committees (representing both official and unofficial committees in court proceedings and workouts); secured creditors’ rights (representing creditors in collections and asset recovery); international insolvency (representation of foreign representatives in chapter 15 proceedings and on cross-border workouts and bankruptcies); and fraud (investigations, enforcement and collection of judgments, and attacking fraudulent conveyances).
Consisting of 15 dedicated professionals, and frequently drawing on resources from within the firm, our attorneys have experience representing a broad array of parties and constituencies in all transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy proceedings. One of our partners was recently named among twelve of the most Outstanding Young Restructuring Attorneys in the United States by Turnaround & Workouts, while others are regularly recognized by their peers as "Leading Lawyers" in Illinois. Several of our lawyers are currently teaching or have taught bankruptcy and related commercial topics at major law schools.
