Jeffery M. Cross is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group and his areas of focus include: Antitrust and Trade Regulation, Canada Practice, Complex Disputes and Franchise and Dealership Law.
Mr. Cross has over 35 years of extensive trial experience representing a variety of corporations and businesses throughout the country on antitrust, securities fraud, contract, real estate, environmental regulations, libel and slander, false advertising, commercial code and trade regulation issues. Mr. Cross is a frequent speaker, and has conducted seminars and lectures advising corporations on avoiding antitrust problems and litigation. Mr. Cross has authored numerous publications involving antitrust, including: "Franchising: Antitrust Considerations," Chapter 9 and "Sentencing," Chapter 65 in the Matthew Bender treatise, Antitrust Counseling and Litigation Techniques; a chapter entitled "Antitrust Considerations," Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education Health Care Handbook; and two chapters, "Corporate Antitrust Liability and Compliance Programs," Chapter 2 and "An Effective Compliance Program Under The Sentencing Guidelines," Chapter 3 in the Aspen Publishers treatise, Corporate Legal Compliance Handbook.
The Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business ranks Mr. Cross as a Leading Individual in antitrust law, stating that Mr. Cross "is described by peers as ‘an experienced antitrust lawyer who is first and foremost an effective litigator.’" Chambers, 2006. Further, Chambers states that Mr. Cross "is considered an excellent trial attorney because ‘he is good on his feet ….and an extremely smart guy.'" Chambers, 2009 and 2010.
Since 2006, Mr. Cross has been recognized in PLC'S Competition Handbook. This publication described Mr. Cross as "known for his encyclopedia knowledge of antitrust law, with a respected general litigation practice." (2009).
Mr. Cross has also been selected as a Leading Lawyer in the fields of Antitrust and Franchise & Dealership Law based on a statewide survey conducted by the Leading Lawyers Network, a division of the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.

Represent defendant Mission Linen Supply in Exhaust Unlimited v. Cintas Corp., et al. an antitrust class action case in East St. Louis, Illinois;
Represent Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Co. in Truck Rail Handling, et al. v. BNSF, an antitrust case in San Francisco, California;
Represent the Noranda Defendants in In re Sulfuric Acid Antitrust Litigation, an antitrust class action case in Chicago, Illinois;
Represent Falconbridge Limited in the Department of Justice investigation relating to its proposed merger with Inco Limited;
Represented plaintiff MBI in MBI v. The Chronicle Publishing Co., a securities fraud case in Madison, Wisconsin;
Represented Exxon Mobil Corp. in Mobil Oil Corp. v. Flores, a dealer termination case in Chicago, Illinois; and
Represented BP America, Inc. in Hilo v. Exxon Corp, et al., an antitrust case in Los Angeles, California.
